By my reckoning we walked about 15kms today. Its our first day and intended as a layover between a late flight in and early one out tomorrow. But no relaxing by the pool!
The quest seemed like a modest one – pop into a bookshop and find some kids books written in indo to help me along on my language odyssey. We walked along jerman (yes, German) beach. The bookshops we found near here are for tourists and in English, Dutch ect.
We stopped at a beachside stall, for a cold drink, and before long someone sat to show me trinkets, then another, then another, then another. Enough! We got up to leave, but I tripped and dinged my shin. Grrr
Then we walked to a mall and found an entire bookshop in English. We are soooo in tourist town! we did triumph in the end.

Along the way we had some lovely interactions and this heavenly ginger tea
After all that my Garmin watch said my effort was poor. Thats a direct quote. If some people are hard to please then digital devices aren’t any kinder
