Oh no, the frame of my prescription sunnies has broken. Darn and blast Specsavers… I didn’t want to spend too much and lose them seakayaking. We went to buy lem Korea. Local superglue / Korean glue. It worked for a short time. And after the second attempt there was glue still in the lens recess so we found an optician.
OO this might be a challenge for my Indonesian. They sent us to a second. I was so thrilled when they found a frame that fitted and swapped the lenses. The young women in the shop were giggling. Gawd I just need to speak and they laugh. When I messed up the money counted 300 000 out loud but gave them 250 000 I said something about not being good at numbers and did a whoosh action sound like we might do if we were saying something went over our head. They were in stitches.
Brilliant it only cost $30 dollars. What a score.
Next day ..oh oh the frames have broken in 3 places. I think the lens is too big .
We went back. This time they shaved the lens..
And tonight I see cracks appearing. My third pair of cheap glasses are now quite expensive…and comically odd to boot.
We’ve resorted to gaffer type tape to hold them together. We did start doing it carefully but, every good clown has a costume….and I so needed to create a bigger spectacle.
